Care groups started many years ago at Concord. To churches that use care groups, they become the life-blood of a vibrant, growing church. In these small groups, everyone has the opportunity to grow deeper in their faith and to share that growth in everyday life both inside and outside the church.
These are a few we are offering this year. Please contact the church office at (618) 939-7116 if you are interested in joining one of these groups. (Please watch for re-start dates)
The Supper Club is organized by Sue Goodnick (618-830-8782) and meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We fellowship together by gathering to eat a good meal at various locations. All adults and their guests are always welcome!
Tuesday Morning Ladies’ Group
Margie Hansen (618-939-8543) leads this group every Tuesday at Concord from 9:00-10:00 am except on the first Tuesday of each month, when the group meets at the Denny’s for fellowship and breakfast. The group is studying Tim Keller’s “Gospel Christianity” (Course 1). We’ll be answering such questions as “What is the Gospel?”, “Who is God?”, and “Why did Jesus die?” Come and join us!
The women meet at various times and in various venues for the primary purpose of fellowship, service, mentorship, and Bible Study. All women are invited to join us as we strive to learn and grow in Christ! For more information, contact Beth Bicklein (618-939-7116)
This year, the Cedarhurst Group (formerly know as the Legacy Group), will be using David Jeremiah’s DVD series “Slaying the Giants in Your Life”. Giants plague today’s church and while they may not wield spears and shields, they are fearsome, causing far too many of God’s children to stumble in their walks. In ” Slaying the Giants in Your Life,” Dr. David Jeremiah challenges us to stand valiantly against the giants that seek to terrorize today’s believers. Everyone is welcome to join the group, which meets on the first and third Sundays of each month at 6:30 pm at Cedarhurst.
The Youth group (known as “Group” here at Concord) meets on Sundays at 6:30 pm for Bible Study and fellowship. Group also gathers for service projects, social get-togethers, and/or outreach events on a monthly basis. All youth, ages 12 years old and up, are invited to attend. For more information contact our Youth Intern, Zach Dean at firstname.lastname@example.org or (706-218-7555).
